Chabad is a full-service Jewish community center for all your Jewish needs and Life-Cycle events. Chabad lovingly works to promote and strengthen Jewish awareness, pride and observance by providing educational, cultural and social activities to all Jewish individuals and families regardless of background, affiliation, observance, age or economic capabilities. There are no membership requirements and one need not even agree with everything at Chabad – you just belong. Chabad Lubavitch of Orange County was established, and has been catering to the Jewish community of Orange County, since June 2004. Chabad embraces the millennia-old traditions of Judaism with a uniquely inviting and modern approach. Chabad’s success is based on the fact that it’s not a particular branch of Judaism, but rather a basic philosophy embracing all Jews on their level.

I’m not observant. Do I belong here?

Only if you enjoy good food, friends and quality, relevant and engaging Jewish events and programming! There are a plethora of programs to choose from. You will find that people who participate at Chabad consist of people just like you. That’s because we believe that labels are for clothing, not people. What really matters is that we have so much in common. Chabad is a place where local community members of all ages feel at home in a setting which is accepting, non-judgmental, warm and enthusiastic about Judaism. “Mi Chabad casa, su Chabad casa!” So, come on over and join hundreds of your neighbors and friends. Right now, the only thing missing at Chabad is… YOU!

How is Chabad funded?

So glad you asked! Though Chabad Worldwide is bound together by a mutual vision, funding for Chabad of Orange County is not provided by Chabad Headquarters. Also, we don’t charge membership fees. We raise our budget through cover fees to some events, but mostly through private partners and donors, like you, who care about our community and who share Chabad’s goals. We will not turn someone away due to lack of funds, and work with each individual to enable Jewish education without finances getting in the way.

Can I become a financial partner?

Certainly! You are such a mentch! By becoming a financial partner, you make possible every program – every Mitzvah – that takes place at Chabad. Whether it’s a holiday event, a get-well package that gets delivered, or a child learning the Hebrew alphabet for the first time, your support makes it all happen. Through our programs and events, hundreds of Jews, young and old, are touched, inspired and connected to their Jewish roots – and we have YOU to thank for it.
